When does the new season of How I Met Your Mother start?

Does anyone know when the How I Met Your Mother season 8 starts? I love the show and I finished the How I Met Your Mother DVD set seasons 1-7 and I really enjoyed the show!

A3: It is said that the 8th season of the show will air from September 2012 to May 2013 and this season will have two plotlines, one that would wrap everything up in the upcoming season and an alternative that would extend the storyline to the ninth season.
